The Law of Cause and Effect
The law of cause and effect is about actions and goals.The athlete who wants to run a mile (the goal) knows exactly what he has to do to (action) to get to the goal; he has to run a mile. The person sitting in front of the empty fireplace wanting to get some heat (goal), has to put some wood in the fireplace first (action), before the heat will come. The farmer has a goal of harvesting in the autumn (his goal) and he knows he has to sew (his action) in the spring in order to get it. He also knows that he will get his crop if he sews and fertilizes, water it (if it gets to dry) and keeps it clean of weeds during the summer. That is a fact and here you have a certain gestation period, so it is easy to keep working towards it, and you do that by following the law of cause and effect. So to get what you want, you have to know three things, one where you are now, what you want and when you want it. The last part we do not control, as we do not know how long it will take, but the more we act in direction of our goal the faster it comes, and in order to keep on going, we need to set a date. When you know where you are, you know what it is you want (your goal) and you have set a time limit to get what you want, all you have to do is take action and believe in the law of cause and effect. I think Zig Ziglar put it best and I totally agree in what he says, and this can be applied to any goal you might have, he says: "You can have anything in life you want, if you will just help enough other people get what they want." That means you can have what ever goal you want, if you just focus on the action, and the action you have to focus on is helping enough other people. This will bring you the goal you want. The Law of Cause and Effect is the law that has made the greatest impact on me, when I first understood it and got the habit of focusing on giving, my whole life changed and my business have been growing ever since. What does this law of cause and effect mean? It means that whatever you send into the universe (that can be through thoughts, feelings and action) comes back to you. Action – Re–action are equal and opposite. I like to refer to this law as the law of sewing and reaping. You have to sew before you can reap the harvest, the farmer has known that for many years, you do not see a farmer asking God to give him a crop if he promises to sew next year. The farmer sews in the spring with the knowledge that if he sews and then takes care of the crop during the summer, he will be able to harvest his reward in the autumn. In the business life you do not know when you will get the sale, it can be that you have to make to more sales presentations but it can also be that you have to make twenty more, you do not know, all you know is that if you keep focusing on sewing and taking care of the seeds you plant eventually you will get the harvest. I am very patient, and it might be because in my earlier vocation I worked with the production of Christmas trees, here you plant and then it takes around seven years for the plant to have grown into a Christmas tree. This means you have to nourish the tree for seven years with fertilizer and keeping the tree free of weeds before you have the Christmas tree to sell and get the reward for it. It took me about eight months from I first started as a salesperson till I changed my habit and got the new habit of focusing on the other person. I completely focused on helping the other person and not thinking about me and my own business, and it is a great feeling. It is actually also easier that it looks, if you just follow the law. For each seed the farmer sews, he gets a lot of grains back, and it works the same way with all other things, you get a whole lot more back of what it is you puts out. Here is an example that you might recognize from your own life, let us say you are married and come home to you r wife one day and say to her: "you do not look to good today." Will you only get one sentence back in return? No you will get a whole lot of bad sentences back in return. On the other hand if you came home and said something nice to your wife, you would not only get once nice sentence back, you would get a lot of nice words back. It is what you send out in the universe that will determine what comes back to you. I will give you another example, this is from my own life. In the autumn of 2006 I started a Mastermind Group in Banyoles, we met once a week at my office. I helped the people in the group find their goals in life and then to go for it, changing their lives. It was first in April 2007, after five or six months that the members of the Mastermind Group asked me what it was I was doing for a living, before that they did not know. Do good things to everyone, threat everyone with total respect and it will all come back. Never worry about what you are going to get, just concentrate on what you can do to help the other person.
