Columbus´s ShipYou have not understood something, until you can explain it to some one else, so that they understand it. I will now explain the six higher faculties for you using the drawing below of the ship (I did not write I would try to, I wrote I will explain them to you). You are Columbus; you are captain of your own ship. You have a 1st mate (your subconscious mind), this mate steers your ship in the direction he is told to, but he can not tell the difference between the captains voice (yours) and the voice of the person in the look–out post (your automatic conscious mind or your autopilot, this can only take you to a known harbor), and there is always some one in the look–out post.
This means that if you are not aware, you might be doing something else, your mate will steer the ship from what the look–out post tells him to. The one in the look–out post reacts to every thing he hears, sees, smells, tastes and touches. He follows the stream and do not know how to go against the wind, so if you are not aware the ship will be steered in another direction than towards your harbor. Now I will explain your higher faculties or intellectual factors to you using Columbus´s Ship. 1 – YOUR WILL is the ships rudder. It is the rudder that determines the direction the ship is sailing, and your ability to focus on the desired harbor (your goal/ dream) no matter what other people do or say and the challenges you meet depends on your will – your will to focus. This means your ability to all the time tell your 1st mate in what direction to steer your ship, remember as soon as you loose sight or focus of your harbor or you do something else that will not take you in direction to your harbor, the 1st mate listens to your look–out post. Use your will to focus on your harbor. 2 – YOUR MEMORY is the ships hold. There is room for every thing here; your memory is perfect, the deciding factor is if you have made an effort to remember it, this means: have you opened the hold and let the thing you want to remember into the hold? You are able to remember everything you have experienced in your life so far, all the knowledge you have gathered through studying, the people you have met, books, traveling, everything in your life so far. Make an effort to open your ships hold and let in the things and people you want to remember in. 3 – YOUR IMAGINATION is your harbor. Your imagination is the only thing that allows you to look into the future, and by using your imagination, you are able to create an image of your harbor (your dream or goal). You may say that it is your imagination that takes you beyond the horizon, just like Columbus when he sailed out and found America. He found his harbor far beyond the horizon. Use your imagination to create the harbor you want to sail to. 4 – YOUR PERCEPTION is the distance to your harbor. It is your perception of the distance that makes the distance what it is. It all depends on what you compare the distance to, if you compare it to a way longer distance, then your distance becomes small and easier to reach. Use your perception to make your distance to your harbor easier for you to reach, it is the same distance, you make it easier to reach. 5 – YOUR INTUITION is your map. It is your intuition you got to use to get to your harbor, it is your intuition that guides you and shows you the way. You got to learn to use your map and not listen to the look–out post except for where you are now, and then use your will to keep the 1st mate steering your ship in the direction you got from looking at your map. Let your intuition show you the way to your harbor. 6 – YOUR REASON is your sail. It is your reason – your ability to think that is your force, it is how you think that determines the way you set your sails, and it is your sail that brings forth your action, and it is your action that will take you to your harbor. If you think negative you will not set much sail if any, this will not bring you any closer to your harbor, but if you think positive and set your sails, use your will to keep the ship heading in the right direction, then you will get closer to your harbor. Use your reason to set sails and respond to the directions given to you by your intuition, then you will act and the action will bring you to your harbor. It is your imagination and your dreams that will find your harbor. It is your intuition that tells you in what direction to steer your ship. It is your will that keeps focus on this direction, no matter what happens. It is your reason that sets your sail which gives you action and results. It is your perception that gives you energy by making the way to the harbor easier. It is your memory that holds the experience and knowledge you need to handle the challenges you will meet on your way just like Columbus. – Sail Columbus, sail towards your new harbor...
