Have you made your "to be list", so you have control of your life?
A "to be list" lets you take control over your own life, to live from inside out, and you do so by making a to-be-list. I have been promoting a “to do list” and helping people with getting things done in their lives. That has changed now; from now on I will make my “to be list” for the next day.It is about being open to learning new things, and I have now learned that a “to do list” is working from outside in, letting the circumstances control your life. When you have to do a thing, that thing controls your day. I will give an example, if you have put “study one hour” on your to do list, then the study will control one hour of your life that day. Working from outside in does not work, it is not about do – have – be. We all know this does not work. It all works from inside out, I have to be, before I can have and do. It is about taking control of your own life, and I now do that by making my own to be list for the next day. You got to work from the inside out, it is all about be – have – do, and you do this by making your “to be list.” To continue the example from above, I can choose to write on my “to be list” that I want to focus on “being learning” and in being learning I can be studying one hour. Now here is an important thing to remember, choose only a few things to have on your “to be list” for the next day, as you can not be all at the same time, and some of the “being” words cover each other. We all have a lot of things we want to do and to have, we also have a lot of things we want to be. We do not get to be by doing and having, but we get to have and do by being. A pear tree does not become an apple tree by doing like an apple tree or having apples, it only becomes an apple tree by being an apple tree. How would you like to be?Here are some of the things I have on my list: Disciplined, courageous, playful, fun, purposeful, passionate, integrity, generous, consistent, creative, lighthearted, growing, open, and abundant.These are to give you an idea of what I am talking about; when I say it is all about being and not about doing. These things are all inside things. The things you have to do are external. What mode are you in? Are you in control of your life being in internal mode, or are you letting outside things control your life? My being can only show up through my action. Here is an example on courage:I can have a “to do list” where I have written I have to call Tim which take courage, as he is on my “chicken-list” (a lot of network marketers have a “chicken-list”, it is a list of the people you do not like to call, and by calling it a “chicken list”, you do not make it any easier to call them), or I can have a “to be list” that says today I will focus on being courageous and in doing so I will call Tim on my “courage-list”. How do you feel about being something compared to have to do something? What makes you more excited? When you just think of all the things you have to do, can you imagine how much actually will get done because of the inner voice telling you, that you really do not have to do all that.Then compare this to having a “to be list”, where your inner voice having to tell you that you really do not want to be courageous today. You have all the being inside; it is just a question of recognizing it. - So have you made your “to be list” for tomorrow? My daily gratitude list.Each day before going to sleep make a list of ten things you are grateful for. The list have to be on ten, as each day is equal, and if you one day was able to come up with fifteen and the next “only” ten, then you would think that day was not as great. There fore ten things each day.By making your gratitude list, you get to appreciate the things you do, it does not matter what you write, what matters is that you write something (and in writing you are thinking positively and abundant). Here is one thing you have to remember when we are talking about things to be grateful for. Let me mention ten things that I am grateful for in five seconds, 1 – 2 -3 - 4 – 5 – 6 -7 – 8 – 9 – 10, I have ten fingers to be grateful for, when was the last time you were grateful for having ten fingers? You might think this is nothing to be grateful for, but by thinking this you are actually thinking lack instead of abundance, as you can be as grateful for your ten fingers as for anything else. Celebrate all accomplishments.When you have accomplished a thing, no matter what it is, then celebrate as it will give you the energy back. In the first grade in school you learn a lot, and you do it by having 90 minutes of education, then you have a break for playing, then 90 minutes of education again, then lunch break, and then some more education before you are of for the day. Today at work, you are to busy with working, you do not have the time to or you forget to celebrate.
